Admission Procedure
Pokhara University is adopting semester system for all the academic programs. There are two semesters, i.e., Fall Semester and Spring Semester. The FAll semester starts in August/September and the Spring Semester starts in March/April. Generally Fall is the semester for new admission.
Application forms for admission are available at the college at the payment of Rs 400.00 from 6 AM to 5PM each day during admission period published in local and national newspapers. Applicants have to take entrance test comprising of English, Mathematics, and General Knowledge both for BBA and BCA programs. Applicants' understanding of the general concepts of accounts is an additional subject of entrance test for BBA students. A merit list of the applicants is prepared based on the weightage given to the intermediate exams, written tests and interview.
Intermediate marks 10%
Written Test 80%
Interview 10%
Only those students who pass the written test will be called for an interview.
After getting admission to the college, the students are required to sign up the university registration and register their courses.
Evaluation System
The student's academic performance during a semester will be evaluated internally and externally (through final examination). The internal evaluation will be done by the teaching faculty and the external (final) examination will be conducted by the office of the controller of the examinations of the university . The distribution of 100% marks is 50% for the internal evaluation and 50% for the external examination.
Internal Evaluation system : The following evaluation scheme will be applied to the internal evaluation of the students.
General Evaluation Scheme
1. Uniform and Discipline 5%
2. Attendance 5%
3.1 st Assessment 25%
4.2 nd Assessment 40%
5. Class tests, Assignments 20%

Case I: Subject without practical
In this case the evaluation scheme will strictly follow the general evaluation scheme
Case II: In this casethe evaluation scheme will be as follows:
From general Evaluation Scheme: 60%
From regular Labs and Final Lab test: 40%
Class tests and module tests will be conducted as per the convenience of the class teacher and the students and the assessments I and II will be given and evaluated following the schedules at proper times.
Students neglecting or violating the rules and regulations of the college or failing internal assessments will be entitled with the NQ. Such students will be restricted to appear in the final examination of the university.
External Evaluation System
The Office of the Controller of Examinations of Pokhara University publishes the schedule for semester end examinations and conducts them at the examination center within the valley. Results will be published by combining the internal and the external marks secured by the students in grade system.
Grading System
The grades (marks) awarded to the students in a course are based on their consolidated performance in sessional and final examinations. The letter grade in any particular subject is an indication of student's relative performance in that course. The pattern of grading will be as follows:

In unusual circumstances, the student may be awarded an incomplete grade of "I". If all the requirements are not me within the following semester, the grade of "I" will be automatically converted to an "F". A student receiving an "I" does not need to register for the subject in the following semester to complete the required works.
The performance of a student in a semester will be evaluated in terms of the semester grade point average (SGPA). The student's final grade will be calculated on cumulative grade point average (CGPA).
SGPA= Total honor points earned in a semester / total number of credits registered in a semester. CGPA = Total honor points earned / total number of credits completed.
Normal Criteria for Awarding Final Grade
The following criteria will normally be used to award a grade in each subject based on the cumulative total score on a scale of 0 to 100:

Division Equivalence
In Pokhara University, CGPA 2.5 or more and 3.0 or more are considered as Second and First divisions, respectively.
Dismissal from the Program
A student is normally expected to obtain a CGPA of 2.0. The student, whose performance in the past semesters does not show the possibility of maintaining this CGPA, may be advised to leave or dismissed from the program.
Award of Degree
On completion of all requirements with CGPA of 2.0 or better, the student will be awarded a degree of the program completed.
Degree with Distinction
To obtain a degree with distinction, a student must obtain CGPA 3.6 or better
Dean's List
The Dan's list recognizes outstanding performances of academic excellence by students. To qualify, a student must obtain a CGPA of 3.7 or better.
Retake Examinations
The students failing the semester end examinations are allowed to retake examinations in both Fall and Spring semesters. They can take examination for 7 credits or two subjects in one semester at a time. However, a student can take such examinations for 22 credits or seven subjects after appearing at the semester end examinations of the final semester of the program. There will be internal re-evaluation for retake students. They should take their classes for retake subjects at the college.
Unsatisfactory Results
The students who are not satisfied with their results may apply for retotalling or rechecking of their grades as per the university rules upon payment of prescribed fee.
